Wooden Doors
Wooden doors usually use either rim cylinder locks, more commonly known as Yale locks or mortice locks, with often a combination of the two being used. Our Locksmith can tell you in the case of Yale locks it is often possible to just change the cylinder and provide the new keys; this is a cheaper alternative to replacing the whole lock. Mortice locks are usually described by the number of the levers they contain, most insurance companies insist on a 5 lever mortice lock complying with BS3261. When moving into a new home or replacing locks it is important that all your mortice locks are to this standard.
